Privacy Policy

This policy covers Seeds for iPhone and Mac, and the Seeds browser clippers, made by Spiral Ocean. Last updated: October 10, 2026.

in short

Seeds doesn't collect anything about you. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking and no ads, and Seeds has no servers. What you save stays on your devices and in your own iCloud.

where your library lives

Your Seeds and Quotes Synced between your devices through your own iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit private database). Only you can read it; we can't.
Shared settings Seeds per day and reminder hours are kept in iCloud key-value storage so your iPhone and Mac agree.
Backups On iPhone, saved to your iCloud Drive (in the Seeds folder). On Mac, saved on the Mac.
Notifications Scheduled on the device. Nothing is sent to a server to deliver them.

x posts

If you sign in to X inside Seeds, the sign-in stays on that device. Seeds uses it only to open x.com posts you saved, so it can read the post's public text and thread. Nothing is sent anywhere else.

browser clippers

The clippers send what you clip only to Seeds on the same Mac, over a local connection (127.0.0.1). Nothing leaves your Mac. The Safari clipper is built into Seeds for Mac. Pictures attached from a web page are downloaded from the page you clipped.

text in pictures and titles

Reading the words in a picture, and suggesting titles for passages, happens on your device using Apple's Vision framework and, where available, Apple's on-device language model. Nothing is uploaded to do this.

mac accessibility permission

On Mac, the capture hotkey needs Accessibility permission so it can read the text you've selected in another app. Seeds reads it only when you press the hotkey.
